Introduction of our India Director by Court Wood, Director for In Jesus' Name Ministries
Pastor George, his wife Dorothy, their daughter Melrose, and their family, have been greatly used by the Lord to bring much needed help to several hundred pastors, and their congregations in Andhra Pradesh State, India. Sandy and I met this godly couple when we first visited India in 1997. We had been in correspondence with them for two years prior to that. In 1999 we asked Pastor George to be our Director for Andhra Pradesh State. Since that time, through their tireless efforts, several hundred pastors have received help, many on a regular basis, scores of church buildings and homes for pastors families have been constructed, medical needs of Christians have been paid for, and food and clothing for many of the very poor Christians in the churches has been provided.
The Lord has used Brother George to organize monthly pastors fellowship meetings in several major cities, including Rajahmundry, Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Srikakulam. Pastors fellowship meetings are also taking place in the Chintapalli Mountains, Orissa State, and Vijayawada.
Brother George and his family have so graciously hosted our American brethren each year when we are able to visit India, and since 1999 have arranged meetings for our American teams in hundreds of village churches and house churches throughout the region.
In Jesus' Name Ministries has never provided a salary for this dear brother and he has freely given himself and his family to the cause of Christ in India. Over 25 year ago, Brother George and his wife Dorothy founded a private English speaking school, where they also live, and through the income from the school they have provided for their daily needs since entering the ministry. Any gifts sent through In Jesus' Name Ministries for Pastor George are used entirely for the many ministries that he oversees in India. All of these are Christ centered. These include: Evangelism, an orphanage, widows and elderly home, caring for lepers, sewing school for young widows, scholarships for education, free health care, relief during natural disasters, helping pastors and bible-women, church planting, open air gospel meetings, tribal outreach, and Bible training schools.
